Nature and being outdoors amongst your community are incredibly important to me. The support, love and trust I feel from both the land and my tribe is extraordinary. We all need help to do the big stuff and Ive found if I am ever at a crossroads in my life, nature and the great outdoors has been a huge comfort and support to me, healing and holding and illuminating the right path for me to take without ever judging
I’ve been a volunteer Forest School leader, taking children camping for over twenty years. Its hard work emotionally and physically but it enriches my soul like nothing else. Empathy and strong listening skills have been developed and fine tuned in this environment. Being able to nurture and care for others is a core value of mine and just feels so good.
I fought my way back into art after many years in the wilderness. As an artist, I think outside the box, am open and curious, always always trust my gut, and I know that nothing happens if it doesn’t come from the heart and you don’t act with a precise and clear vision.
My daughter. An utter blessing to me every single day. Having her is the single most proudest thing I have ever achieved. It was exceptionally hard, but I tackled it with bravery, tenacity and clear motivation. I knew with my entire being that it was what I wanted and had enough resilience to overcome the setbacks when they inevitably happened. I took it one tiny step at a time, always celebrating my wins however big or small.
The NINES in Peckham, is a Bar and Music Venue I set up & ran until unscrupulous landlords took it from us, wanting a slice of what we’d created. Setting it up showed me genuine hard work and determination can get you anywhere and believing wholeheartedly in yourself and your vision can make anything happen.
I believe whole heartedly in having fun and really feeling free. Friendship, dancing and laughter to me is as essential as air, and I try to live with a sense of wonder and joy in everything I do. Otherwise its just not worth doing. A playful sense of adventure and curiosity permeates everything I do and I like to share this feeling with as many people as I can.
